Providing access to quality education, care and health insurance to orphans and vulnerable children
More than 1.3 million children in Tanzania
have been orphaned due to HIV/AIDS
A United Nations report found that vulnerable children in developing countries are less likely to attend and finish primary school than their non-vulnerable peers. Sub-Saharan Africa has the highest rate of school drop-out rates in the world.
WHAT WE DO
We believe that every child should have the same educational opportunities in life, irrespective of age, geography, economic or family situation, gender or disability.
HalevAfrica works to create and support educational opportunities and provide health insurance to orphans and vulnerable children in Tanzania. By doing so, we empower them to overcome adversity and become independent in the long term, supporting themselves and their families and breaking the intergenerational cycle of poverty.
OUR STORY
HalevAfrica is an Israeli nonprofit. It is apolitical and non-religiously aligned. The NGO was founded in 2019 by Ayelet Israeli Aharonof, a social entrepreneur, former dance teacher, holistic health consultant and mother of 2 who decided, for her 50th birthday, to go on a personal volunteering journey at an orphanage in Tanzania.
The organization focuses on locating and supporting orphaned, abandoned and vulnerable children from remote villages and orphanages in accessing educational opportunities, food and health care.
Together we can make it!
BE A PART
We are looking for dedicated partners who care deeply about making a difference in the lives of orphans and vulnerable children, who believe that education is a basic human right and one of the most powerful tools for lifting socially excluded children out of poverty.
